This is the process often referred to as a ‘check-up’. The need for a regular examination is so important in order to detect any problems as early as possible—such as decay or gum disease—and take measures to prevent the problem from becoming serious, saving you time and money.
The dentist will also perform a head and neck examination and examine your mouth for any indication of oral cancer or any vitamin deficiencies. X-rays may be taken if necessary and the dentist will assess whether it is beneficial for you to see the hygienist.
